As HR Partner you will act as a trusted advisor to management on performance management matters, employee relations issues, discipline matters, and the overall employee lifecycle (hiring/promotion/transfer/termination). This is a stand alone position, responsibility for Spain.

Position can be based in Valencia or Madrid.

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • Establish and manage key business partner relationships to understand the business priorities and talent needs in the country

  • In partnership with Country Leaders, support communication and action planning efforts around Groupon’s engagement survey to support highly effective and relevant processes and practices for talent retention and development for the Country teams.

  • Identify training needs for business teams and individual coaching needs and facilitate training programs locally, as necessary -- including required trainings based on country regulations (e.g. Health & Safety)

  • Work closely with the HR Service Model, including close partnership with HR Operations teams, HR Business Partners, HR Delivery Partners and Centers of Excellence teams to ensure the timely and effective delivery of Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Talent Management

  • Develop and manage internal Union/Worker’s Council and/or external Union relationships, where applicable

  • Manage Employee Relations issues including grievances and investigations in Spain, and other countries as needed.

  • Provide policy guidance and interpretation on variety of topics, including business unit restructures and workforce and organizational planning

  • Stay up-to-date on legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance cooperating with our internal employment law team and external local matter experts (i.e. legal counsels or labor consultants)

  • Manage any HR related regulatory reporting and filings in Spain, including Spain Equality Reporting

  • Some project work will be required. You should be able to own and deliver on projects, looking for continuous improvement opportunities via streamlining and automation

 

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • At least 5 years of experience as HR Generalist/HRBP in fast paced dynamic organizations, with experience working with Worker’s Council’s and/or unions

  • Proven ability to work within a Global matrixed organization and build strong business relationships cross functionally

  • Multilingual abilities in Spanish and English, with any other languages a plus

  • Profound knowledge of Spanish labor law and Spanish market

  • You have a passion for the experience you provide your customers - and can diffuse even high-tension situations with ease

  • You're a self-starter, have a bias for action and are not afraid to fail

  • You know that the details matter and a demonstrable ability to handle multiple items at a time

  • You're adaptable and can think on your feet; when faced with new challenges or tough conversations, you face them head-on

  • You can travel to other Spanish office on a frequent basis
