As a Sr. UX Researcher at Groupon, you will use qualitative and quantitative methods to plan, execute, analyze, and socialize consumer research and insights. You will work to develop a deep understanding of our consumer base, their motivations, needs and aspirations. You will work collaboratively with your cross-functional team members to influence decisions and ultimately deliver the best possible experience for our consumers around the world. 

At Groupon, UX Researchers influence teams to create human-centric designs and product decisions across the product development lifecycle, from early discovery research understanding customer needs and problems through to post-launch research that informs future iterations. Your insights will help a wide range of products and tools at Groupon, impacting the experience of millions of customers.

The Role: 

● The Sr. UX Researcher will partner with Product Management, Product Design, Engineering and stakeholders to plan, execute and deliver insights that are focused on making material improvements to the customer experience 

● This role is part of the Consumer Experience (CX) and focuses on the important Consideration and Purchase phase, including our Product Page/Deal Page, Cart and Checkout experience 

● You will use your experience to drive research efforts from conception through delivery of actionable insights using a variety of methodologies, including surveys, field research, lab and remote studies, journey maps and other methods 

● You will champion the voice of the customer in cross functional teams, collaborating on product and design decisions related to strategic initiatives to deliver a world-class Groupon consumer experience 

● You will socializing research findings with different levels of fidelity to match the audience needs and help drive actionable change 

● Contribute to the growth and evolution of the User Experience Research team by helping create and evolve processes and practices both within the UXR team and in our cross-functional teams 

● Help the UXR team upskill cross-functional partners to gather customer feedback on more tactical needs by providing training, helping create templates or work as a coach and consultant ● Innovate on socializing insights throughout the organization, at all levels, including helping to create and contribute to a research repository 
 

We’re excited about you if you have:  

● 5+ years of UX Research experience 

● You possess a strong point of view through the lens of a customer advocate 

● Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in the study of user experience, design, research or related fields; for example, Design, Information Architecture, Human Factors/HCI, Psychology, Cognitive Sciences OR alternative equivalent project/portfolio experience 

● Experience with a variety of mixed methods and approaches

● Experience doing research with consumers 

● Experience across products and platforms, e-commerce expertise is a plus 

● Experience mentoring or coaching other researchers or cross-functional partners is also a plus
