The Booking team owns a stack of applications that help our merchants to manage their availabilities , bookings and to contact our customers. This initiative is one of the key ones and the first to be Global in North America and International. The focus of the company is to make more than 80% of the local deals bookable in 2020 !

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing Engineering team and build out the next generation of our booking platform. The ideal candidate is a hands-on platform builder with significant experience in developing scalable data platforms. We’re looking for someone with experience in business intelligence, analytics, data products. They must be at ease working in an agile environment with little supervision. You will help enable us to deliver a globally scalable, secure, performant, and configurable unified platform to bring our merchants and customers together to new and existing markets. This is an opportunity to make significant contributions to the time to market, scalability, performance, and maintainability of leading-edge united booking platform services. You will be working with and learning from skilled senior developers using modern tools and technologies.

You will spend time on the following:

  • Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes (agile); investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle

  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.

  • Contribute to the quality and maintenance of the code base through code reviews and unit testing

  • Troubleshoot and resolve system problems and client issues

  • Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices

  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.

  • Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.

  • Solve complex problems with simple solutions

  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions

  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code

  • Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions

We’re excited about you if you have/are:

  • 3+ years of proficient experience working on software products

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

  • Excellent team player

  • Deep understanding of object-oriented design and programming concepts

  • Experience of development and consumption of scalable microservices, REST APIs and REST API architecture

  • Experience with modern programming languages like Java, Python, Ruby, PHP

  • Experience with scripting languages like Bash Shell, etc.

  • Experience of database concepts and implementation, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra

  • Experience with infrastructure automation technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Vagrant

  • Experience with build automation technologies like Maven, Chef , Puppet, Ansible

  • Experience with monitoring technologies like Nagios, Wavefront

  • Experience with Cloud Services (AWS)

  • Comfortable with version control: GIT, Github, Gitlab

  • Familiarity with Continuous Delivery, Continuous Integration, Unit Testing

  • Comfortable with Linux

  • Experience in compilers or debuggers

  • Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process

  • Experience with the Atlassian toolset – Confluence, Jira
