Groupon, Inc. is looking for a Software Development Engineer, API Platform to join our team in Seattle, WA.

How you'll spend your day:

  • You will work within and across teams to determine the optimal design for new and existing software;

  • write code based on aforementioned design and technical specifications to implement new features;

  • design high-performance RESTful service-oriented architectures and software that is fast and efficient for millions of users;

  • review, test and deploy code changes, using languages such as Java, so that they take effect in the production environment, and thus are usable by customers;

  • configure the servers that the applications run on; modify files and data on the servers to ensure the application stays running and available;

  • keep the servers up-to-date to ensure that they remain usable;

  • debug reported issues with the Groupon Application Programming Interface software;

  • implement code changes to fix issues that arise from bugs in the software;

  • determine the relevant dependencies and stakeholders for an issue that lies outside of the Groupon Application Programming Interface software;

  • design, develop and deploy successful systems while making use of agile software development practices including iterative development, TDD, continuous delivery and retrospectives and investigate production issues using log analysis tools;

  • maintain and migrate a system hosted in the cloud by utilizing relevant technologies such as AWS, Docker, Helm and Kubernetes;

  • design and implement RESTful API related new products and features for web and mobile applications in cloud-based financial system (SQL, JS, Java, Azure);

  • migrate legacy systems to cloud technologies using SQLserver, Azure, Java to improve system performance, scalability, and auto recovery;

  • design and develop containerized services including continuous delivery and log analyzing features with JS, Docker, Helm, Jenkins, Redis, and Kubernetes;

  • perform troubleshooting that arises from bugs in a multi-tier environment and change code to fix the issues to help customer experience.

We’re excited about you if you have the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, plus 2 years related experience, OR, Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • Any level of experience with design and implement RESTful API related new products and features for web and mobile applications in cloud-based financial system (SQL, JS, Java, Azure)

  • Any level of experience with migrate legacy systems to cloud technologies using SQLserver, Azure, Java to improve system performance, scalability, and auto recovery

  • Any level of experience with design and develop containerized services including continuous delivery and log analyzing features with JS, Docker, Helm, Jenkins, Redis, and Kubernetes

  • Any level of experience with perform troubleshooting that arises from bugs in a multi-tier environment and change code to fix the issues to help customer experience
