Groupon helps local businesses grow and strengthen customer relationships––resulting in strong, vibrant communities. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success.

Global Finance is a team of high performers and trusted partners who leverage data to deliver strategic insights and empower decision making, solve problems, and mitigate risks. You will play a meaningful role in the global forecasting and planning process. These teammates produce timely, accurate reporting and customized financial analysis to support management decisions. Your work will directly impact the success of teams within Groupon, ensuring that they are delivering the financial performance to build our mission.

The Senior Finance Manager of Commercial Finance will be a key finance partner for Revenue Management.  You will be delivering insightful financial analysis and providing business decision support. In addition, this person will be responsible for leading the annual operating plan, quarterly forecast process, and month-end variance analysis for Groupon’s Goods business. This is a highly visible role that will interact with leaders across the company including Revenue Management, Goods, Marketing and FP&A, and will be relied upon as a valued member of the team.

We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and passionate about helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a compelling place to work?

You'll spend time on the following:

  • Intersects with the Revenue Management team to apply financial frameworks and  provide a greater understanding of performance trends, impact analysis, and action-based recommendations.

  • Key Commercial Finance partner for Groupon Goods with full oversight of day to day review of Goods operational performance, monthly/quarterly/yearly planning cycles, month-end close, variance analysis, development of bi-weekly outlooks, and engagement with Goods VP and leadership team.

  • Partner with the Goods VP and leadership team to develop quarterly targets and annual operating plans.

  • Work with partners to provide day to day analysis on performance and deeper insights into trends and root causes, including traffic source and full Gross Profit funnel analysis.

  • Work with the VP and their team to track the weekly outlook and collect key changes to integrate into the internal pacing process.

  • Complete analysis on the P&L each month to explain and communicate key performance drivers and variances to plan and prior year.

  • Find opportunities to help the business with financial analysis around key strategies and initiatives and aid in implementation and tracking.

  • Support the development of key initiatives to drive performance as well as support the VP’s in controlling costs

We're excited if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field; MBA preferred

  • 8+ years of broad based Finance experience in a variety of roles, ideally in Commercial Finance, FP&A, investment banking, consulting, or another related field

  • High comfort level with Microsoft Excel and SQL

  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to interpret and summarize complex data to help achieve strategic and operational goals

  • ‘Builder’ mentality – identifies problems quickly and is eager to build solutions from scratch, not just improve on others work

  • Passion toward nurturing business partnerships with senior-level executives and their teams

  • Superior intellect and the executive presence to become a true business partner – someone who is capable of contributing to broader business conversations beyond their functional expertise

  • Critical thinking skills and ability to identify business challenges while simultaneously absorbing new knowledge and information

  • Results oriented and able to roll-up the sleeves in order to accomplish necessary tasks

  • Experience in managing and developing people

  • Comfortable with a fast-paced, always-on, turnaround environment

  • Must have strong business judgment and excellent project management skills

  • High detail and process-oriented, data-driven with strong analytical abilities
