Sales Trainer (M/F)

Description

Do you love to develop amazing sales people? Because that's what we do.

Groupon’s mission is to become the daily habit in local commerce and fulfill our purpose of building strong communities through thriving small businesses. We connect people to a vibrant, global marketplace for local services and experiences. In the process, we’re positively impacting the lives of millions of customers and merchants globally. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. If you want to take more ownership of your career, then you're ready to be part of Groupon.

We know sales is the backbone of business. That's why training our teams is a top priority. Our sales teams focus on building partnerships with Groupon merchants, and we spend our days showing them how. Plenty of companies offer sales “training” but Groupon offers professional sales development. Our trainers teach core selling principles in our GroupOnboarding program (GOB) and then accelerate the professional training of our teams in Groupon Sales University. We know what makes a phenomenal sales person and we provide our teams with the path to becoming one.

You will provide new-hire and ongoing training to the sales team, including the development and delivery of sales-related content as well as providing ongoing support of the sales organization. In addition to training on our core sales process and psychology, our Trainers are often at the forefront of new product launches and organizational changes, helping our teams flex and grow their process to meet business changes. Comfortable leading group and individual sessions, they are dynamic and knowledgeable coaches that provide a true support system for our sales representatives.

We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a significant impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and kind of obsessed with helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a compelling place to work?

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • You will effectively build and deliver training materials to Groupon's sales organization in both initial and continued-learning environments
  • You will identify needs within organization and design training content to improve and influence results
  • You will be expected to work effectively by taking initiative in project management, remaining open to feedback and excelling in group collaboration
  • You will act as a liaison to other areas of the organization when new applications or products are being developed and rolled out
  • Effectively engage your audience as a dynamic and interactive presenter
  • Provide one-on-one coaching to sales representatives, acting as an available resource and guide

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 2+ years in a sales training role or 5+ years of sales experience with experience providing support and coaching teams
  • Full proficiency German
  • You excel with public speaking and in situations where you're delivering new ideas
  • You are a curious and autonomous self-starter
  • You're an effective communicator and can diffuse even high-tension situations with ease
  • You have an uncanny ability to focus in a whirlwind of change, and can even maintain perfect pitch while singing “Wind of Change” by Scorpions
  • You have a passion for training and the learning environments that you create; you're committed to the success of others
  • You're adaptable and can think on your feet; you excel in an ever-changing environment
  • You're a natural leader, and you thrive in a team environment
  • You're a bright, critical thinker; you can make complex things simple
  • You're not afraid to fail, and you're always looking for ways to improve
  • You deliver feedback directly with a high degree of maturity and professionalism
  • You have interest and/or experience in data analytics, the tracking of success behind what happens in the classrooms
