Process Automation Specialist

Description

Groupon’s mission is to become the daily habit in local commerce and fulfill our purpose of building strong communities through thriving small businesses by connecting people to a vibrant, global marketplace for local services, experiences and goods. In the process, we’re positively impacting the lives of millions of customers and merchants globally. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. If you want to take more ownership of your career, then you're ready to be part of Groupon.

The Process Automation Specialist acts as a business partner for internal teams, mainly focused on Sales Operations processes from lead allocation through to downstream, post-contract Account management, providing insights into gaps and opportunities as well as building automated solutions to improve process efficiency and effectiveness. You will drive meaningful change in terms of the reduction of manual and repetitive tasks - replacing them with (semi-) automated solutions - in order to allow both Sales & Sales Operations Teams to execute initiatives at scale.

We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and kind of obsessed with helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a compelling place to work?

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • Map out processes as they are today and redesign them for improved efficiency and effectiveness,

  • Develop automated (Python/Macro/SQL/other) solutions that seamlessly integrate into existing workflows,

  • Influencing Stakeholders in order to gain buy-in for process overhauls/updates,

  • Support cross-functional & cross departmental efficiency projects to improve collaboration and achieve streamlined processes,

  • Support Operations senior team in the execution of large scale projects,

  • Clearly articulating business challenges in terms of risk/opportunity and balance this against business benefits of process adaptation,

  • Ensure the duplicity/waste is removed from business (i.e. tearing down silos) to streamline overheads

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • Bachelor Degree attained, preferably in IT-related sector

  • 3-4 years in an Operations capacity, of which at least 2 years should be in an automation-focused role, ideally within an e-commerce based industry.

  • High level of IT proficiency

    • Python - at least proficient with willingness to improve/stretch

    • Salesforce - strong understanding of baseline infrastructure & functionality

    • Excel - advanced, including macros (VBA is a plus)

  • Google Script/JavaScript - basic knowledge as a minimum

  • Verbal and written English proficiency at business level (Level B2)

  • Innovative, hard-wired to drive improvements

  • Proactive and hands-on attitude

  • Strong follow up and supportive approach

  • Understanding of business related processes

  • Eye for detail and well organized

  • Work independently with a positive attitude, self and team motivation, and flexibility

  • Good command of English (at least on B2 level) to be able to work and communicate effectively with the wider international group of internal partners and stakeholders in Sales and Sales Operations
