Groupon, Inc. is looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to join our team in Chicago, IL.

How you'll spend your day:

  • You will develop, construct and implement the next generation of company products and features for Groupon's web and mobile applications;

  • Design high-performance RESTful service-oriented architectures and software that is fast and efficient for millions of users;

  • Provide project management support related to Groupon product projects, including developing project plans, assigning project tasks, and driving project execution;

  • Provide technical support and guidance to technical team, including architecture design, new technology selection, etc.;

  • Provide people management for team members, including motivation, performance review and recruitment;

  • Partner with product owners, designers, and business stakeholders to manage projects using Software Engineering and Agile methodologies;

  • Work on Groupon Content pages that show information to the customers by using Nodejs, CoffeeScript, I-TIER framework;

  • Maintain and improve Cloud CI testing and deployment automation progress utilizing Jenkins, YAML and Nodejs;

  • Maintain and monitor application traffic dashboard by using Splunk, ELK, and Wavefront.

We’re excited about you if you have the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or foreign academic equivalent plus 3 years of experience.

  • Any level of experience with partnering with product owners, designers, and business stakeholders to manage projects using Software Engineering and Agile methodologies;

  • Any level of experience with working on Groupon Content pages that show information to the customers by using Nodejs, CoffeeScript, I-TIER framework;

  • Any level of experience with maintaining and improving Cloud CI testing and deployment automation progress utilizing Jenkins, YAML and Nodejs;

  • Any level of experience with maintaining and monitoring application traffic dashboard by using Splunk, ELK, and Wavefront.
