Lead Product Manager - Internal Tools

Description

Are you a problem solver? Do you have a passion for leading projects from beginning to end?

Groupon’s mission is to become the daily habit in local commerce and fulfill our purpose of building strong communities through thriving small businesses by connecting people to a vibrant, global marketplace for local services, experiences and goods. In the process, we’re positively impacting the lives of millions of customers and merchants globally. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success.

As a member of the Internal Tools team, you will partner with engineers, data scientists, business stakeholders located across the globe.  As the Lead Product Manager, you will take the lead on solving complex technological problems with cutting-edge technologies, are passionate about innovating on behalf of your internal partners, demonstrate a high degree of product ownership, and want to have fun while they make history.  You will measure, interpret, and make strategic recommendations on the direction of the product, at times representing the perspective of the team on the wider organizational level. You will work closely with multiple departments to tackle issues and implement changes to empower our front line team. We work in small, independent teams and use agile practices to move quality code into production quickly.

We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have the resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and kind of obsessed with helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a compelling place to work?

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • Building relationships with different people across all business organizations while exploring different functional areas of Groupon
  • As a Lead Product Manager, you'll partner with internal stakeholders to understand new feature platform needs, building out the road map and vision to bring those features to life
  • Working with business and engineering partners to write designs for features through understanding other teams' needs
  • Collaborating on the vision and strategy for the Internal Tool platforms
  • Shipping your ideas and building out features that empower our customer facing teams to improve customer experience

We're excited about you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Systems
  • At least 8 years in product management; including at least 3 years with a global, fast-paced, customer-driven eCommerce or SaaS company
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, coupled with the ability to comfortably and confidently present to all levels within the enterprise
  • You've lead complex technical product roadmaps with aggressive schedules from initiation to completion, as well as coordination of software development life cycle activities
  • Experience working with infrastructure projects for both business and technical teams
  • Experience leading projects using cloud-based efficiency tools like Google Docs, Smartsheet and Slack
  • Proven experience in JIRA creating and managing projects, issues, epics, sprints, reports
  • Proven record of creating new product features and improving existing ones.
  • Experience with Agile project management
  • A big plus if you have experience in leading organizational adoption of new products
