The Global Head of Compensation is accountable for the design and development of compensation and programs, including the delivery and communication of these programs. They are responsible for ensuring that programs are aligned with leadership direction, market results-orientated, fair and in compliance with established policies, procedures and legislative requirements.

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • Direct the compensation function and ensure programs are results-orientated, balanced and achieve desired behaviors and results that are closely aligned to Groupon's business strategies.

  • Manage cyclical compensation programs including cash and equity awards.

  • Own and maintain the company’s compensation and job structures

  • Drive for simplification of processes, including salary range creation, position recommendations and effective communication and training on new and existing compensation programs.

  • Collaborate on the development of agenda topics and material development for the HR and Comp Committee of the Board of Directors and manage the process and timeline for Committee preparedness.

  • Lead, with strong collaboration with Legal and Finance, the annual development of the Compensation Discussion and Analysis corresponding executive compensation and pay versus performance tables in the Company's proxy statement.

  • Closely collaborate with various internal groups - legal, tax, communications, investor relations and others as needed - on a variety of issues pertaining to equity and incentive compensation.

  • Manage, hire, develop, engage and coach a team of compensation professionals.

We're excited about you if you have:

  • Strong business acumen; a solid understanding of the financial, legal and tax implications of the various global compensation alternatives to ensure they are  effective and compliant.  Strong understanding of Sales focused compensation plans.

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities that requires strong project management, task management and decision-making skills. Hands-on approach required.

  • Excellent analytic and financial skills, including reduction in cost/risk and optimizing department budget.

  • A highly motivated leader of people, programs and ideas with high integrity. Pro-active and performance results oriented and capable of operating successfully in an e-commerce environment.

  Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business or related disciplines required, or equivalent experience. 

  • A minimum of 4 years of diverse compensation experience in a consumer-centric environment.

  • Exposure to international compensation programs preferred.

  • Knowledge of relevant market trends and practices.
