At Groupon, Accounting isn’t your typical month-end close type of department. While the heart of our day-to-day work is providing financial information to the business, that’s only the tip of the iceberg. We’re building out financial systems to support every new business line and product, so our Accountants get a granular view and understanding of how a business is crafted from the ground up. The knowledge to gain is vast, as is the potential of our organization to continue growing.

As Senior Accountant you’ll spend time on the following:

▪ Preparation of statutory Trial Balances for a number of international entities, including the

adjustments required to go from US GAAP to Statutory TB, to ensure prepared in accordance

with IFRS and/or relevant local GAAP

▪ Support the audit of various international financial statements to facilitate completion of audit

procedures in a timely and efficient manner, including liaison with local external audit teams

and other internal teams responsible for providing audit support.

▪ Preparation and review of international financial surveys

▪ Business partnering – Legal/Tax/VAT/Technical accounting for the variety of cross functional

projects

▪ Ensure proper documentation of all reconciliations for internal & external audits

▪ Liaise effectively other accounting teams and other stakeholders including tax, treasury, legal,

finance, internal audit, HR and corporate accounting

▪ Ensure SOX compliance and standardization of key accounting processes.

▪ Complete investigations and data analysis as requested by manager

▪ Relentless focus on timely and accurate financial accounting and reporting, process improvement and automation

We’re excited about you if you have:

●Bachelor or equivalent degree in Finance/Accounting

●Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate environment

●Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills

●Strong Excel skills. NetSuite knowledge is a plus

●Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines

●Enthusiastic, adaptable, and see challenges as an opportunity to grow.

●B2+ level of English (proficient in written and spoken English)
